Menominee Jail Release Paths
A departure from Menominee County Jail can take several forms. Bond, personal recognizance, a dismissal, time served, completion of a county sentence, probation, or another court order may return a person to the community. Yet a prison commitment sends a sentenced person to the Michigan Department of Corrections. A warrant may lead to another county or state, while a federal writ or detainer may result in transfer to the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The key question is simple: did county custody end in a community release or a transfer? Ask for the date and time, the release authority or event code, and any receiving agency recorded. The criminal case can explain why the person was eligible to leave. The jail movement entry shows when Menominee County authority actually ended. If another custodian received the person, that system must confirm what happened next.
| Recorded event | What it means | Next source |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or court order | The case allowed release, subject to other holds and processing. | Jail movement record and MiCOURT |
| Time served or sentence complete | The county jail term ended; another matter may still apply. | Jail record and sentencing court |
| Transfer to MDOC | County custody ended, but state prison custody began. | OTIS and MDOC records |
| Other-jurisdiction transfer | A warrant, writ, or detainer moved the person. | Named receiving agency |
Confirm Menominee Jail Release
The official Menominee County Jail page supplies the first local route. It links to VINE and states that correctional staff can be reached by telephone around the clock. VINE can report release, transfer, or escape changes. Those are distinct events. A notification is fast evidence of a status change, but the movement record and court order provide the stronger detail when the exact event matters.
- Search Michigan VINELink for the person, matching the custodial agency and identifiers instead of relying on the name alone.
- Call the jail at 906-863-4441. Ask whether the person is still held, was released to the community, or was transferred.
- Use the MiCOURT case search to find the Menominee case. Read bond, sentence, dismissal, and other public order entries in their proper court context.
- When documentary proof is needed, request the existing booking and release entry through Menominee County’s FOIA process.
- If the answer is transfer, continue with OTIS, the receiving county, BOP, or ICE rather than treating the county departure as freedom.
The broader Menominee County released-inmate search and records overview compares these systems when the last custodian is uncertain.
Menominee Jail Release Source
The county’s jail page shows why a direct verification chain is needed. It provides facility details, VINE access, and contact routes rather than a public release list. The official page appears in the captured view below.
View the source page for Menominee County Jail release contacts and VINE access.
This view confirms the county’s contact-first design. It should not be read as an inmate roster or a list of people who have left custody.
For a recent change, note the exact label and update time VINE displays. Then ask the jail whether the change was a community release or transfer. For an older event, a focused request for the jail release form, booking card, or movement entry is more useful than asking staff to create a new list.
Menominee Jail Release Records
Menominee County directs written Freedom of Information Act requests through County Administration. The online FOIA form is the electronic path. In-person or mailed requests go to Menominee County Courthouse, Attn: Administration, 839 10th Avenue, Menominee, MI 49858. FOIA obtains records that exist. It does not require the county to answer questions or build a custom released-person report.
A focused request should identify the person, known booking number or birth date, and a date range. Ask for the booking or admission date and time, booking number, release date and time, release type or authority, receiving agency or transfer destination if recorded, associated court and case number, and booking photograph if needed for the record purpose. Request an electronic copy and ask the county to redact exempt material while producing the reasonably separable remainder.
- Release authority
- The bond, order, sentence event, or other basis recorded for ending the jail episode.
- Transfer
- Movement to another custodian, not a return to the community.
- Movement record
- The jail entry that logs a person entering, leaving, or changing custody status.
- Discharge
- An agency-specific endpoint; in MDOC usage it is not the same as county bond release.
The county states that it makes its initial response within five business days after receipt, excluding the receipt day, and may take one extension of up to ten business days. That deadline governs the response, not guaranteed production. Allowable labor, copying, media, and mailing costs may apply. A 50 percent good-faith deposit may be required if the estimate exceeds $50, and actual allowable cost is due before release.
Menominee Jail Contact Record
The jail-specific hours control a jail inquiry. Menominee County uses Central Time, unlike much of Michigan, so callers elsewhere in the state should account for the time-zone difference. Administrative staff have a stated daytime window, while the county says correctional staff answer the jail line at all hours.

Lieutenant Tina Nast was listed as jail administrator in the July 2026 source review. Use the role and main facility number because personnel can change. For a records request, County Administration is the formal route. For a court order, contact the court clerk rather than asking jail staff to interpret a docket entry.
Note: State the booking and date range when calling so staff can distinguish the intended custody episode from a later case.
Menominee Release Court Trail
Two Menominee courts may supply different pieces of the same release trail. The 95A District Court handles misdemeanors, adult arraignments, bail and bond, and preliminary felony proceedings. The 41st Circuit Court handles felony and general-jurisdiction criminal cases. A felony inquiry can therefore require the District Court bond or arraignment event, the Circuit Court judgment, and the jail movement record.
A posted bond or signed release order may precede actual discharge. Processing and another hold can intervene. Likewise, dismissal of one case does not show that no other case or warrant kept the person in custody. Read court terms as legal authority, not as a substitute for the jail’s actual departure time.

| 95A District Court | Arraignment, bail, bond, misdemeanor, felony preliminary stage | 839 10th Avenue; 906-863-8532 |

Menominee Release Bond and Property
The Sheriff links AllPaid for online bond payment under PLC 5264, and 95A District Court states that it sets bail and accepts bonds at adult arraignments. A payment receipt is not a release timestamp. Court approval, discharge processing, conditions, and another hold may still affect the event. Confirm movement with the jail after payment rather than estimating a departure time.
The jail’s March 2025 rules provide one clear property detail. Original documents received through most incoming mail are placed with the person’s belongings while copies are delivered, and those originals are returned at release. If an item is missing, the released person should identify the booking and ask the jail about the property record. The published material does not set a post-release pickup deadline, so no deadline should be assumed.
Booking debt and release status are also different subjects. The jail describes how some account deposits may be applied to unpaid state-mandated booking fees or other debt. That custody-account rule does not prove continued detention and does not establish that release depends on paying the account balance.
Menominee Release Record Retention
Online visibility is not the same as record retention. Michigan’s General Schedule 11 says an inmate jacket may include intake records, booking cards, mugshots, sentence records, prison-transfer papers, bonds, warrants, property forms, and inmate release forms. The schedule assigns the inmate jacket a minimum period of release plus ten years. Booking and control logs carry a different period: the end of the calendar year plus seven years.
Daily counts that may show people processed or released that day have a shorter schedule, as do property intake and release records. Those schedules govern retention and possible disposal; they do not promise disclosure or web publication. Exempt information may be redacted, and another approved schedule or legal hold can apply. Still, the record-series names help a requester seek an existing item with precision.
The reliable chain remains consistent: identify the movement, read the court authority, and follow any receiving custodian. That method confirms what Menominee County Jail actually recorded without turning a missing name into an unsupported conclusion.
